Mike joined MedEvolve in 2014 bringing over 25 years of experience exclusively in the healthcare information technology and revenue cycle management markets. In his role as CEO, he is responsible for the core values at MedEvolve as well as employee opportunity, client success and results, company growth and profitability. Prior to MedEvolve, he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Officer of Streamline Health (NASDAQ: STRM), where his focus was on business development, client management and marketing. His experience includes executive management in all aspects of supporting, implementing and selling HCIT solutions and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) services. He has led several organizations that provided solutions and services in the acute, radiology and ambulatory markets—resulting in significant growth and client success. Those organizations include Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX), Beacon Partners, GE and IDX Systems Corporation (NASDAQ: IDXC).
Mike has a BA in Political Science from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Dr. Hefley co-founded MedEvolve in 1998 and acquired nine-year-old Medical Business Services, Inc., a healthcare information technology company that possessed a mature DOS-based practice management software product. In his role as Chairman of the Board, he works with senior management to assure that MedEvolve’s products and services meet and exceed the expectations of the company’s physician partners. As a practicing physician who understands the unprecedented challenges confronting today’s medical practice, Dr. Hefley continually provides that perspective to the team. Dr. Hefley continues to establish the vision for the next generation of innovative MedEvolve products to serve the medical community.
Prior to MedEvolve, Dr. Hefley served as a Development Partner for NextGen Healthcare (NASDAQ: QSII) responsible for the development of electronic health record clinical content for orthopedists.
Dr. Hefley graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry from Harding University and received a medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and received additional training in joint replacement arthroplasty in London, England. In addition to his position at MedEvolve, he has an orthopedic surgery practice in Little Rock specializing in minimally invasive surgeries for the knee, hip and shoulder, including arthroscopic and joint-replacement procedures.
William S. Bowen, MD

A native of Little Rock, Dr. Bowen graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in chemistry in 1977. Upon graduating with a degree in medicine from UAMS in 1981, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1986. Dr. Bowen specializes in total shoulder, hip and knee replacement, as well as arthroscopic reconstruction of the knee and shoulder. His certifications include the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Bowen is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Orthopedics Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the Arkansas Medical Society. He has been published in the Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery. As Chairman of the Board of Managers for Arkansas Surgical Hospital, Dr. Bowen is actively involved in decisions regarding overall patient care and growth of the facility. His participation in numerous clinical trials studied how various pain medicines and blood thinning drugs affect patients recovering from orthopedic surgery. His private practice has spanned more than 28 years. Dr Bowen has been voted as one of the best doctors in orthopedic surgery in the Arkansas Times Best Doctors multiple times. He has three grown children and enjoys biking, hiking, tennis, hunting, scuba diving and running.
Jonathan Phillips has over two decades of experience providing financial advisory and strategic consulting services to leading healthcare organizations. Mr. Phillips founded Healthcare Growth Partners (HGP) in 2005, where he continues to serve as Partner and Managing Director. Prior to HGP, Mr. Phillips was a Vice President in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at William Blair and Company, and he served in various roles in the healthcare practice of Deloitte Consulting for more than five years. Currently, he serves as Chairman of Streamline Health, and is an active member of the boards of other healthcare companies, including Vivify Health, Conversio Health, Lightbeam Health Solutions, PatientBond and Cordata Health. Throughout his career, Mr. Phillips has provided strategic and financial advisory services to over one hundred and fifty clients in the healthcare industry, including representing clients in mergers and acquisitions and equity financing transactions with an aggregate value of over $2.5 billion.
Jim Crook has over 35 years of leadership experience with a strong track record of growing companies in healthcare IT. Currently, Mr. Crook is a private equity investor in several healthcare IT companies and serves on multiple related boards, including MediRevv, OpenTempo, RCxRules and Arcadia Healthcare Solutions. He is also on the advisory board of Peloton Equity, LLC, a healthcare growth capital company, and a member of the Colby College Board of Trustees. He began his career with IBM, followed by 25 years with IDX Systems Corporation where he held a number of executive operating roles, including President and CEO. IDX was acquired by GE Healthcare in 2006.
